Designed by Aedas in Singapore, the interior takes the guest on a wonderful sensory journey. After entering through a garden tunnel, guests are greeted with the main dining hall. A series of plaster ceiling sculptures create a blanket overhead, reminiscent of the varying shades of the sky. A refined yet humble palette of natural materials like marble and timber brings the earth concept to life.<\/p>\n

Aedas chose \u2018The Cranes\u2019, an iconic Florence Broadhurst design, and Materialised re-coloured the pattern to a beautiful blue grey.\u00a0 It was then printed on fire retardant textured fabric and upholstered to the walls. Like modern chinoiserie artworks \u2018The Cranes\u2019 add a fresh elegance.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text text_larger=”no”]Shortlisted for Restaurant & Bar Design Awards; Ahead Awards; International Hotel & Property Awards 2020.<\/p>\n

By adding illustration to the operable walls Hassell Studio was easily able to, enliven and freshen this space.<\/p>\n

Hassell Studio provided the original artwork, inspired by Paddington terraced houses. Materialised scaled and fitted to the areas, and it was then printed onto Zircon linen, which was then pasted to the walls. Consideration needs to be given to the fabric so that glue does not penetrate and Zircon is perfect.<\/p>\n

Normally unsightly pillars are encased with bespoke designs creating an urban oasis.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row mobile_bg_img_hidden=”no” tablet_bg_img_hidden=”no” woodmart_parallax=”0″ woodmart_gradient_switch=”no” row_reverse_mobile=”0″ row_reverse_tablet=”0″ woodmart_disable_overflow=”0″ css=”.vc_custom_1605582216518{margin-top: 140px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text text_larger=”no” el_class=”text1″]Large-scaled vegetation adorns pillars in The ANZ Bank. The brief from the bank was to create six designs starting with Level 4 to Level 9. These were to reflect \u2018Growth\u2019 and were named \u2018Cultivate\u2019, \u2019Nurture\u2019, \u2018Grow\u2019, \u2018Thrive\u2019, \u2018Flourish\u2019 and \u2018Established.\u2019[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”17062″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” parallax_scroll=”no”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row mobile_bg_img_hidden=”no” tablet_bg_img_hidden=”no” woodmart_parallax=”0″ woodmart_gradient_switch=”no” row_reverse_mobile=”0″ row_reverse_tablet=”0″ woodmart_disable_overflow=”0″ css=”.vc_custom_1605582216518{margin-top: 140px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”17063″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” parallax_scroll=”no”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text text_larger=”no” el_class=”text2″]Thus Materialised commissioned designer Shannon Cheung of Typoflora to illustrate the artwork for this project. These were printed onto a robust and attractive wall vinyl called Sandy Bank. Implementation was a challenge as the pillars were not straight and varied in size, thus fitting and matching the design was imperative.<\/p>\n

This \u2018lush\u2019 result is visually powerful and fits perfectly with a New Zealand aesthetic and enjoyment in natural beauty.<\/p>\n
